Annie arrived in Vancouver from Switzerland several years ago. In Vancouver, she met Alex and the rest is history. They have built a life together in Steveston, not too far from where Alex grew up. Their August wedding will be in Switzerland, where Annie grew up. This session was about documenting them, where they live. The first half of photos are from their daily walk. The second half are off their longer weekend walk route. I love shooting somewhere meaningful. Especially when somewhere meaningful is beautiful. And Annie and Alex… well they are beautiful too.

I loved hanging out with Harps & Andrea on Saturday morning in Gastown. There is something about early morning sessions, the light is totally different than any other time of day, softer somehow. And if you pair that soft light with gritty Gastown, well it’s pretty much awesome. And when you combine that awesome with an awesome couple like Harps and Andrea, well, you have engagement session magic.

Harps, Andrea and I got along swimmingly. I pride myself of coaxing real emotion out of people by making them laugh, and you can see from their images, we got a lot of laughter. We had so much fun finally meeting each other in person (all prior consults had been by phone and email while I was still in Toronto), and I can’t wait for their wedding this summer on the Sunshine Coast.

There is something about drizzly West Coast days… when it stops drizzling the light is perfect. Combine that with the sweetest couple and you have a recipe for a perfect session.

I met up with Kevin and Kerry bright and early Saturday morning in the the Distillery District. Our engagement session was one part goofy, one part fun, and one part smoldering. The full post should be ready by the weekend, but for now, check out their animated gif!
