Basically, a small camera that goes where she goes. Her post was just the encouragement I needed to get off my butt and get shopping to get my own day-to-day camera.

Today at the St. Lawrence Sunday Antiques Market I found it. It’s an early-model Nikon FM.  It’s probably almost 35, but has excellent reviews.  The best part, the guys at the market gave me a steal of a deal. ($99 for everything you see in the image. Whoa.)

Isn’t she a beaut?

Sarah has four (what I will call) “rules” for a pocket camera.

  1. Light and easy to pop into a small purse. {The Nikon FM is a teensy bit heavy, but easily fits into my small purse. Bingo.}
  2. Challenges you. {Easy. It’s film. And fully manual.}
  3. Nondescript and doesn’t draw attention. {Well, it is an SLR. And vintage-looking. But it’s pretty small. I’ll let you know how this goes.} and,
  4. Use it. {This one is all on me.}.

And then I failed. But a few weeks ago (on pinterest) I came across a cool 30-day photography challenge hosted by Mary of White Peach Photography. (Wow… that’s a lot of links!)

Mary’s challenge started on June 1.  For several reasons I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be successful if I started on that date.  So, instead, I decided to start June 24, the day before my 19-day long vacation! By the time I get back, I’ll totally be in the habit of posting a photo a day, and only have 10 days to go. 

So, faithful blog-viewers and readers, I’ll see you every single day for the next 30 days with (hopefully) some awesome images!
