Sean, Lisa & Charlotte Vancouver Kits Beach Family Photography

Sean & my husband were housemates in university at Queens. Then, when my husband first moved to Vancouver he spent a month or so living with Sean’s parents while he found an apartment. They were groomsmen in each other’s weddings. And then Sean and Lisa had baby Charlotte, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her! When they were back for Christmas, we took the opportunity to do a family photoshoot on a beautiful January morning. Yup. This was in January. Vancouver is a beautiful city.

Kirsty & Matthais Stanley Park Elopement

When Kirsty called me from Australia asking if I could photograph her & Matthais’ September elopement, my heart lept jumped with excitement. Then when she asked if I could pick somewhere I thought would be beautiful, my heart just about exploded. Kirsty & Matthais’s wedding was heartfelt and warm. Just the two of them, their beautiful son Otto, and Matthais’ parents were there to celebrate the day. It was a beautiful ceremony, fun portraits, and I was so honoured to be a part of their day.

The Baileys and I go way back. The I’ve know Jenny since I was born kind of way back. (You might recognize Jenny from this post). And it is crazy for me to think that Jenny is all grown up now, and is married to Brandon—a wonderful elementary school principal—and that they have three beautiful children, Calla, Vivian, and Preston. The six of us spent about an hour shooting their little family when I was back in Alberta at the family cabin for a visit this summer, and it wasn’t perfect… But with three kids running around, family photography never is.

And truly, I tend to prefer imperfection, anyway. It’s a little more real.
