Days 1 to 10 :: 30-Day Photo Challenge

Day 1 - 5+text

Day 1 :: Self-Portrait :: I’m loving it! Thanks to my friend Kim, for providing a sweet backdrop to my day 1 pic.

Day 2 :: What I Wore :: This would more appropriately be called “What I Am Going To Wear” or “What I am Currently Wearing”. I’m going to a wedding today. As a guest. Woohoo!

Day 3 :: Clouds :: I took this image on the plane from Toronto to Montreal. We arrived in Montreal at about 5:15 and rushed to try to get onto the 5:55 (rather than the 8:55) flight to Paris. It was our lucky day, there was space! Travelling only with carry on baggage really paid off this time! So now, we get three extra hours in this beautiful city. Yippee!

Day 4 :: Something Green :: This was a little more complicated than anticipated, and involved a trek to look for Hector Guimaud Art Nouveau Metropolitain signs.

Day 5 :: From A High Angle :: This couldn’t have been more perfect. We went up the Arch de Triomphe. I leave you with images both from the stairway up, and from the top towards the Champs Elysees.

Day 6 :: From a Low Angle :: Yesterday, the weather in Paris cooled down (from the 37 degrees on our first two days) to a much more manageable 23ish degrees. We spent the day strolling through Montmartre, Montparnasse, and the Latin Quarter where I took this image of the Pantheon. In the evening, we went to the Eiffel Tower to watch it sparkle while drinking wine and eating cheese, charcuterie and baguette on the Champs de Mars. That would have been the world’s most ultimate “from a low angle” picture – but I did something totally out of character and left my camera at home. My husband and I sat, ate, talked, laughed, snuggled as the weather cooled off, and lived totally in the moment. It was brilliant. I did however, take this picture of the Eiffel Tower at night the prior night, so you get an idea of what it looked like!

Day 7 :: Fruit :: This image is of an epicerie in Le Marais in Paris. Jon is buying me a peach, because I was starting to get a cold.

Day 8 :: A Bad Habit :: This picture needs little by way of explanation…

Day 9:: Someone You Love :: This is my hubby. He looks cute in the candle light. He also is a superstar and snuck out and got me soup while I was super sick (on day 8). He rules.

Day 10 :: Childhood Memory :: It’s actually kind of perfect that we are in the south of France for Day 10 of the challenge, as when I was 11 my family came and spent three weeks in the south of France. On Sunday, I was washing my hair with lavender scented shampoo and I wished I could take a picture of the smell for Day 10. Alas, I couldn’t figure out how to take a picture of a smell, so a photo of our lavender bush will have to do!
